The difference is that when you download the message on your phone for example, the email stays on the server so you can later open it using another desktop software like Outlook. It gives you the ability to setup an email alias and forward all email sent to this address to any email you already use. In this case you only setup info@yoursite.com on your desktop as a POP3 account and the other two you forward to info@yoursite.com.
